Mission: SPACE

Orange Team Version

Have you ever wondered what it's like to be launched into space? Mission:Space uses centrifuges similar to those that NASA trains their astronauts with to give guests a realistic simulation of space flight. Riders on Mission: SPACE feel tremendous G-forces as they hurtle through our solar system towards Mars. It's an intense journey most guests won't soon forget.

Green Team Version

For those who are prone to motion sickness or wish for a less intense experience, there's an alternate version of Mission: Space which does not spin. This version is more similar to Star Tours in intensity.

minimum height requirement
44 inches
ages 2-4
Even if they reach the height requirement, Mission: SPACE is incredibly intense and not suitable for young kids. If anything, make sure to try the Green Team version first.
ages 5-10
If you are unsure of whether or not your kids will enjoy the experience, try the less intense Green Team version first.
ages 11-15
Most pre-teens and teens enjoy the excitement and thrills provided by this attraction.
ages 16-adult
Some adults enjoy Mission: SPACE, while others get disoriented and sick. If you tend to get sick in the car or on an airplane you should consider trying the Green Team version.
senior citizens
Too intense for most seniors, but great for those who enjoy thrill rides.

When to Go

Mission: SPACE is quite popular and can develop long lines during the midday (11:00 a.m - 4:30 p.m).

FASTPASS

Mission: SPACE is the third most valuable FASTPASS in Epcot, after Soarin' and Test Track. Because of the high capacity of the attraction, Mission: SPACE does not run out of FASTPASS until early evening most days.

Trivia

  • This attraction is very loosely based on the film Mission to Mars and even features one of the actors from that film, Gary Sinise.
  • Disney veterans may recognize the logo from Horizons in the center of the rotating space station in the queue. Horizons was the attraction replaced by Mission: SPACE.
  • The ride holds the distinction of being the only Walt Disney World attraction with motion sickness bags.
