Disney World is known for the four main theme parks, but their water parks Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach are ranked #1 and #2 best water parks in the entire world.

 

Playing above is the video for Blizzard Beach, which was originally going to be the first ski resort in Orlando, but the snow kept melting and so they made a water park out of it. The second water park is Typhoon Lagoon Water Park has great water slides and an unbelievable lazy river that encircles the entire park.

Special Hint: If you are going to be visiting one of the water parks while you are at Disney World then you are going to be better off buying the  Disney World Magic Your Way Base Tickets and adding the Water Park Fun and More Options. This will save you a lot of money and give you more freedom to see everything Disney World has to offer.

Other Recreational Activities at Disney World

Disney World has a myriad of recreational activities to do while on vacation.  If you are looking to go off the beaten path, you will find something new around every corner. Listed below are just some of the recreational activities that we have found worthy of mention:

Golf at Disney World: Each of the six Disney courses offers a unique experience. Some are flat, others have huge mounds or moguls where flat lies are hard to find, some are easy and others quite difficult. It you are a scratch golfer there are courses for you. For the higher handicap player, you won’t feel left out as Disney offers you many courses that will fit your skill level.

Miniature Golf: If you remember the Disney Classic Fantasia, you will feel right at home for this is the background theme that will serenade you as you hole after hole.  You will find there are two courses to challenge the entire family. One is the Garden Course at Disney’s Fantasia Gardens, which is the easier of the two parks. There is a second set of links with sand bunkers, rough, and undulating hills that is called Fantasia Fairways.  If you are looking for something to do in the late afternoon or early evening, putt putt golf is always at family favorite.

Craig Carroll’s Surfing School- You always wanted to do it…here is your chance….did you know you can learn to surf at Craig  Carroll’s  Surfing School. That’s right the tide is up at Disney World and so is a great time. Before you know it you will be riding the waves and having more fun than you could ever imagine….who needs the Beach anyway?

Richard Petty Driving Experience- Ever thought about driving your own race car powered by a 630 horsepower engine? Well here is your chance. Now, I know what you are thinking…I will ride… and leave the driving to someone else.  Not so fast Junior Johnson…that’s not the case at Disney World…you are the driver and guess what…you will be the only one in the car….we have heard about you on the interstates back home…you think we want to ride with you? Not on our life. You must make reservations by calling 1-800-Be- Petty.  Interesting fact…women as a rule go faster around Disney’s Speedway than do the men.

Boating at Disney World: Most guests are not aware that there are all kinds of boats to rent at the Disney Marinas.  That’s right…Disney World offers the largest rental fleet of watercraft in the entire world. We know with so many kinds of watercraft from wave runners to racing runabouts to even Boston Whalers and of course pontoon craft, there is something for you.

Fishing: Now here is an activity that will sure to please. Almost everyone will catch a largemouth bass on Disney’s Pontoon fishing trip. Why not guarantee your family a great time and get a whale of a picture as well.

Horseback Riding:  You need to do something a bit different in the  afternoon what about a 45 minute guided horseback trail ride with your own guide…not that is different and you betcha…it is all at Disney World.
